Mrs. Barbara Laughlin

Graveside services for Barbara Ann Laughlin will be held 1 P.M. Friday, October 22, 2021  at Hopewell Cemetery in Medina, TN.

Barbara, or Meemaw as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her, passed away Wednesday, October 20th at Elmcroft Assisted Living in Jackson, TN.

She was born in Gadsden, Alabama on July 6,1944, to Raymond and Thelma Hoffman. Barbara was one of 7 children. She was very close to her sisters; they would speak and get together often. She was determined to make something of herself in life. This determination led her to overcome many adversities in life. She was forced to leave school during her 8th grade year; however she never gave up on her education and obtained her GED in 1989. She even pursued college courses. Barbara pursued many different careers during her life. She was a machinist, a waitress, and worked at Helileg Meyers staging furniture. Her real passion, though, was being a stay at home mom and raising her children. She loved to craft and had many hobbies that included cake decorating, making mop dolls, and photo albums. She enjoyed dancing, shopping ( Walmart, QVC and JC Penny were her favorites). Overall, she led a very full and happy life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Thelma; her brothers, David, Ray and Fred Hoffman; her sisters, Shirley Freeman, Maxine and Christine Hoffman; and her husband, Eddie Laughlin.

She is survived by her children Vic and Cindy Wimpee, Samantha and Joe Northcott, and Maland and Joann Douglas; and her sister, Donna Kay Garrett. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
