Funeral services for Mrs. Betty J. Coleman will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Latham’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Latham’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Coleman, age 86, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden, TN.

She was born in Carroll County, TN and was valedictorian of her graduating class at Medina High School, Class of 1951. Mrs. Coleman was retired from retail management with WalMart. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Martin, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Fannie Seavers; her husband of 50 years, Auston Brooks Coleman; son, Michael A. Coleman; brother, Iron Gene King.

She is survived by her son, Ray Coleman (Gwen); sister, Patsy King Cunningham; daughter-in-law, Cathy Coleman; grandchildren, Angela Kelly (Eric), Shiloh Coleman (John), Shawn Auston Coleman (Katie), Seth Lewis Coleman (Tori); five great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Tim, John, Seth, and Shawn Coleman, Brooks Johnston, Corbin Kelly; honorary pallbearers: Dalton Coleman, Steve Sherfield.

In light of COVID-19, social distancing will be observed, and masks are encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
