Dorothy Virginia McLemore, 97, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. McLemore was born in the Idlewild community to the late Cecil and Nancy Thetford Yates. She retired from the Milan Army Ammunition Plant after 25 years of service. Dorothy loved to garden and grow flowers (especially unique ones) and watching hummingbirds. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ellis McLemore; sons, Larry and Charles McLemore; sisters, Mary Parkins, Bertie Broussard, Georgia Allen; and one of her loving grandchildren, Jared McLemore.

She is survived by her sons, Donald McLemore and wife Sarah, Phillip McLemore, Dennis McLemore and wife Beverly; daughter, Monda McLemore Hutson; brother, Sammy Yates and wife Patricia; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Private graveside service will be held at Latham’s Chapel Cemetery.
