Graveside services for Mr. Fred Garner will be held 12 Noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Ridgecrest Cemetery with Dr. Edgar Pierce officiating.

Mr. Garner, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 29, 2019. He was born in Lexington, TN to the late John Floyd and Lessie Mae Knowles Garner.  Fred attended the local schools and spent most of his life in the Lexington and Jackson area. He married Peggy Strong on July 4th; a marriage that lasted over 60 years before she passed away.

Fred was employed by TVA as an HVAC technician and by the S.M. Lawrence Company as a sheet metal worker.  He also served his country as a member of the TN National Guard. Mr. Garner was  a member of East Union Baptist Church.

Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Milton and Joe Garner; sisters, Beulah Garner, Alice Poindexter, and Velma Bailey.

He is survived by his daughters, Judith Garner Gaggley, and Deborah Fay Lay; sister, Reba David.

In lieu of flowers, family request memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
