Mr. Gaylon R. Meals
Funeral services for Mr. Gaylon Meals will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Lathams Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in Lathams Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Meals, age 77, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Henderson County to the late Johnnie S. Meals and Minnie Ola Tyler Meals. Mr. Meals was a graduate of Northside High School; veteran of the U. S. Army; member of Lathams Chapel Baptist Church; was retired from Teamsters Local Union 217, where he served as president for 21 years.
Mr. Gaylon was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald Ray Meals; sister, Bonnie L. Walker.
He is survived by his step-son, Robert Fenn; granddaughter, Rebecca Dawn Meals; special friend, Margaret Fell; brother, Delton F. Meals; sister, Penny Fuzzell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the Meals family will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the funeral home.
