Harold Franklin Hammonds

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Hammonds will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Smyrna Baptist Church with Bro. David Powell and Bro. Mike Kemper officiating. Burial will follow in Gibson County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon until service time at the church.

Mr. Hammonds, 82, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at NHC in Milan surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Madison County, TN to the late Hubert William Hammonds and Naomi Foust Hammonds. Mr. Harold was a retired brickmason. He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church for 44 years where he served on many church committees, as a deacon, and member of the mixed adult Sunday School class.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lonnie, Johnny, and Shermon Hammonds.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Combs Hammonds; daughter, Kandi Ellis and husband Daniel; grandchildren, Mercedes, Caiden, and Byron Ellis; cousins, Don Terry and Ricky Harris; nephew, Howard Hammonds.

Honoring Mr. Harold as pallbearers will be: James Brisentine, Joe Evans, Jr., Lawson Evans, Daniel Ellis, Ricky Harris, Randy Combs, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Smyrna Baptist Church, 16 Dollar Road, Humboldt, TN 38343.
