Larry had a pleasure of making people laugh. He never met a stranger and made friends easily.
After high school, The Saint Louis Cardinals recruited Larry for his superior athletic ability. God changed his path when he was drafted by the U.S. Army. Larry served as an Army cook and his passion for cooking continued after his tour of duty ended.
Larry provided guided fishing excursions on Reelfoot lake. He worked for the Gibson County Sheriff's Department and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Larry resisted being controlled by cancer for over ten years. He kept active and doing the things he enjoyed doing. He loved his family and friends and had his guardian angel, Lucky, by his side. His faith in Jesus was undeniably strong. His prayer life was so consistent that Lucky even learned to join him in prayer. Larry was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Humboldt.
Larry leaves behind two sisters, Jerre Rainwater and Gloria Hammonds, two brothers, Randy Combs (Cynthia) and Larry's Twin brother Barry Combs (Joanne), a daughter Paula Justice (Mark) and granddaughters, Virginia and Allison. A stepson, Johnny Hutching and stepdaughter, Tammy Mann.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jere & Rosa Combs, his son, Stephen Combs, a sister, Sharon Evans and a granddaughter, Morgan Combs.
