Mrs. Lela Ann Mitchelson

Lela Ann Mitchelson, age 89, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Lela was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 15, 1930, to James Patrick and Ruby Hedge Burns.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Mitchelson; son, Jack Mitchelson; brothers, Jim Burns and John L. Burns.

Lela is survived by daughters, Linda Newman (Mike), Susan Morris; son, Joe Mitchelson (Candy).  Also surviving are grandchildren, Julie Kinsland, Sarah Wilson, Trey Mitchelson, Bryan Mitchelson, and Nick Morris; four great-grandchildren with one more due in July.  She also leaves many, many other family and friends that she loved dearly.

Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, TN on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020, at 11 a.m., celebrated by Father David Graham and Father Richard Cortese. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Jackson.

Due to the current health concerns sweeping our nation, the family is honoring the “social distancing” and will be holding private services both at the church and cemetery.
