Leona Lynn DeBerry

Funeral services for Ms. Leona DeBerry will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at The Church at Sugar Creek with Dr. Greg McFadden and Pastor Dylan Young officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Ms. DeBerry, age 90, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Leona retired from The Old County Store and later worked part-time at Simmons Shoe Store. She was a member of The Church at Sugar Creek. She loved her Lord and was passionate about sharing her faith with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Richard T. DeBerry, III, Lee F. DeBerry; brothers, Bob Ligon, Jerry Ligon; sister, Carmen Walters; daughter-in-law, Lujuana DeBerry.

She is survived her son, Mike DeBerry; daughter, Lynn Havner and husband Charlie; brother, Jay Ligon, Jr.; grandchildren, Chelsea Caraway and husband Gary Jr., Rachel Young and husband Dylan, Charlie Havner and wife Trista, Sarah Simpson and husband Brent; great-grandchildren, Cannon and Colt Caraway, Ford Young, Cal and Charlie Grey Havner, Barrett and Ivy Simpson.

Visitation with the DeBerry family will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020, from 4 until 7 p.m. at The Church at Sugar Creek and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Church at Sugar Creek or Central Avenue Christian Church.
