Milton (Nickey) Walters

Funeral services for Mr. Milton Doyle (Nickey) Walters will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Criswell officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Walters, 64, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Nickey was born and raised in Humboldt, TN to the late Jessie Wray Walters and Jo Ann Welch Walters McMullen. Nickey was employed with Wilbert Vault Company many years and retired from Gibson County Water District. He was a member of Eldad Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gary (Bird) Walters and Charles (Rod) Jarrett; grandson, Wyatt Elmore.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rita Walters; children, April Austin, Amanda Jordan (Brian), Leslie Shumate, Tiffany Vandeberg, Paul Collins (Erica); grandchildren, Lacy, Jasmine, Chloe, Makayla, Sheila, Brody, Kaiden, Joseph, Jason; great-grandchild, Blaine Michael; siblings, Bruce Walters, Sheila Inman, Shirley Berry, Michelle Fermi-Ward, Shirley Mayfield; and a host of nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society.
