Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Wright Blankenship, of Jackson, TN, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the sanctuary of The Church at Sugar Creek in Humboldt, TN, with Dr. Greg McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Monday, May 15, 2023, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in Medina, TN, and again on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Blankenship, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Humboldt, TN to the late James Wesley “Warren” Wright and Wilma (Taylor) Wright. Nancy was retired from Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church. She was also active with the Peace by Piece Quilt Guild and Raggedy Anns FCE Club in Jackson.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Ted Blankenship; sister, Nelle Sappington of Birmingham, AL.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Fisher and husband Bret of Collierville, TN, Susan Growe and husband Brian of Sellersburg, IN, Matt Blankenship and wife Kimberly of Medina, TN; brother, Robert Wright of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Zach Fisher and wife Alex, Allyson Fisher, Molly Growe, Luke Growe, Marshall Growe, Abby Blankenship, Brynlee Blankenship; and 1 great-grandchild to be expected soon.
Those honoring her as pallbearers will be: Bret Fisher, Zach Fisher, Luke Growe, Brian Growe, Doug Sappington, James Sappington, Bill Blankenship. Honorary pallbearer, Jim Wright.
