Mrs. Opal Carlene Cleary
Mrs. Opal Carlene Cleary, of Milan, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020. She was 75 years old. Carlene was born to Mr. L.G. and Lela V. Anderson O’Neal, on July 27, 1944, in Verda, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, L.G. and Lela O’Neal; her daughter, Tammy Lynn Cleary; her husband, Tony Leo Cleary; her brothers, Bruce O’Neal and Gene O’Neal; and her sister-in-law, Mary O’Neal.
She is survived by her son, Donald Wayne Perot; her daughter, Tracey Cleary Pelham (Kerry), and her granddaughter, Sophia Grace Sykes, along with multiple brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cleary was active in the Milan community for many years, contributing to the town as co-owner of multiple businesses with her husband, as a business owner herself, as an employee advocate for her son, and as a beloved Milan Marching Band parent while her daughter was in high school.
She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her granddaughter, reading, praying with others, laughing, watching hummingbirds, spending time outside, and keeping everyone on their toes!
She was a loyal wife, beloved mother, and fiercely loved her family. Her spunk, no-nonsense approach, sense of humor, one-of-a-kind attitude, and love for her family will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life was held in her honor on Sunday, February 9, 2020. The family wishes to thank those who took time to visit and share their stories with her family and friends.
