Mrs. Patsy, age 85, passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Wellington Manor in Jackson, TN. after a long illness.
Patsy was born in Carroll County TN and was lovingly cared for by Edd and Fannie Seavers. She graduated from Medina High School “Class of 57” and then earned her BA Degree from Union University. Her math teaching career then began and stretched over TN, FL, and TX for the next 50 years. Patsy was proud of the fact that she was the first female in the US to teach at an all male prison, was a 50 year member of Delta Kappa Gamma and said “I’ve been to 13 different countries, been blessed by the Pope twice, but I’m still a Baptist.” She spent the last years of her life in the Lavinia area on the family farm and attended Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rupert Cunningham; brother, Iron Gene King; sisters, Betty Jane Coleman and infant Rosa Lee King.
She leaves behind many loving family and friends.
