Mrs. Peggy Ann Spencer

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Ann Spencer will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Pool officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation with the Spencer family will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Spencer, age 90, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Jackson, TN to the late Thomas Irvin Davis, Sr. and Mary Emma Reynolds Davis. Peggy graduated as valedictorian from Northside High School, class of 1949. While cheering for the Indians, she met the love of her life, Tera Spencer, who was officiating the basketball games. After attending West Tennessee Business College, Peggy worked for William Steele. In 1952 she went to work for the Five & Dime store in Medina. From 1967 to 1993 she was employed at Medina School where she enjoyed a 26 year career. She was a member of Medina First Baptist Church.

She always found joy in working outside, sewing clothes, and loved watching basketball games, especially when her daughter was playing in high school. In later years she enjoyed watching college and pro basketball, especially the Memphis Grizzlies.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 71 years, James Tera Spencer; daughter, Kathryn Abernathy and husband Lee of Ashville, NC.; son, Paul Spencer and wife Joan of Medina, TN; brother, Tommy Davis; sisters, Frankie Grimes, Dot Exum and husband Clifton, Bet Barnett; grandchildren, Amy Bryant and husband Dion, Jason Barr and wife Sara, Anna Maneclang and husband Gil, Allison Abernathy; great-grandchildren, Blake Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Olivia Barr, Amelia Barr, Lucy Maneclang.

Pallbearers will be Jason Barr, Dion Bryant, Blake Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Gil Maneclang and Bruce Replogle.
