Sarah Anne Mathenia Bennett

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Bennett will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022, in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Kenney officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Trenton, TN. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time.

Sarah was born on April 9, 1951, to Clarence and Opal Mathenia in Trenton, TN and passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was educated in Trenton school systems, then later worked for Proctor and Gamble, retiring from Kelloggs in 2010. She married Joe Gordon Bennett on January 1, 1986. Together they had 3 children and made their home in Medina, TN.  She was very involved in her church at Englewood Baptist Church of Medina. Sarah loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her grandson Mason play football and shooting sports for South Gibson High School. She also loved watching her granddaughter Madison play softball. She will be truly missed by them both.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray, Russell, and Pete Mathenia; sisters, May Graves, Rebecca White, Marie Hatchett.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Joe G. Bennett; children, Jason (Kristen) Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, and Amanda Bennett (Charles Webber); grandchildren, Michael (Shanna) Allen, Joslyn Bennett, Mason Bennett, and Madison Bennett; great-grandchild, Jade Allen; brothers, Harry (Shirley) Mathenia, David (Barbara) Mathenia, John (Janie) Mathenia; sisters, Louise Watson and Carolyn (Jerry) Kyle; many nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Bobby Kirk, Wayne Kemp, Dean Pendergrass, Chris Mathenia, Mike Edwards, Chuck Webber.
