Mr. Tommy Shumate, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Oakfield Baptist Church with Bro. Mickey Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads with Military Honors. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Oakfield Baptist Church and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Tommy Shumate, Jr. passed away at his home Friday, June 21, 2019, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Jackson, TN to the late Thomas and Bettye Ann Bryant Shumate. Mr. Shumate was a veteran of the Army National Guard, member of Vietnam Veterans of America Post 995, Red Cross, and Oakfield Baptist Church. One of his favorite past times was to go fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Stevens; sisters, Mattie Lumley, Margie Shumate; grandchild, Brianna Shumate.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pam Millinder Shumate; sons, Daniel Shumate and wife Kim, Matthew Shumate and wife Michelle, Ryan Shumate and wife Rose; daughter, Amanda Campbell and husband Carlos; brothers, Danny Shumate, Ricky Shumate; sister, Shirley Vinson; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
