William "Bill" Boyd Jones

Mr. William “Bill” Boyd Jones, age 90, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at his home in Milan surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Bill was born in Crossville, TN to the late Everett James and Celia Henry Jones. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army and served proudly in Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam before retiring. Then he re-enlisted and served in a security position at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, achieving the rank of Provost Marshall before retiring again. During this time he never stopped learning and he received his B. A. Degree from Bethel University.

When not working, Bill enjoyed traveling with his family, gardening, golf, and St. Louis Cardinal baseball. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Jones; sister, Lela Pierce.

Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Jo Neeley Jones; daughter, Teresa Jones; sons, Daryl Jones and wife Dee, Steven Jones and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Drew Jones and Abbey Jones, (Daryl and Dee), Dylan Jones and Isaac Jones (Steven and Sherry); brother-in-law, Eddie Neeley; sister-in-law, Joyce Howell; special friend, Darlene Allen; many nieces and nephews; and faithful companion Shelby. 

A family and close friends burial service will be held at Gibson County Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to the Alzheimers Association.
