William Thomas Blasingame, a retired conductor with I.C.G. Railroad after 38 years of service, passed away on May 10, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1936, in Jackson, TN.
Tommy, as he was affectionally known, was a man of many accomplishments. He graduated from Northside High School in Jackson, TN and later served in the U. S. Air Force both stateside and abroad. His dedication to his work as a conductor for nearly four decades left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Described always as kind-hearted, Tommy had a gentle and generous spirit that touched the lives of those around him. In his free time, he found solace in gardening and nurturing his vegetables, a hobby that brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his sons, William Thomas (Toby) Blasingame, Jr. and wife Patty, and Glenn Arthur Blasingame and wife Camille. Tommy was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 67 years, Martha Jane Blasingame on February 13, 2024.
Services to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. The visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Medina First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM at the church. Immediately following the service, a private entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN .
William Thomas Blasingame's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing that he touched many lives with his kindness and warmth.
